I had a boyfriend many years ago who was also an athiest..Being a psychic I have always believed in God..My boyfriend was a non believer in what I do, so I asked him to think of a question and I would answer it..I told him I saw a tree, the branches are many and the leaves are gold and glittering..I was very confused at first but then I had a warm feeling come over me and I said to him...God is not a tree but I believe the tree represents God and the leaves must be us as we grow from God..Yes the question he asked in his mind was "What does God look like if he does exist"..(AND I did say God is not a tree)..He also asked another question in his mind, what I saw was a circle and it was going round and round then the circle turned into a man going round and round, then I got the word "Infinity"..Yes he asked what would happen after he passed over...We never die...So have faith, just because you cannot see does not mean that you cannot feel..So ask yourself, God please help me have faith, then notice the feeling that goes through your body..All the best.

You are at the beginning. Biblically it says that all who search will find Him. That being said don't be afraid of doubt. If you haven't had doubt have you really believed. There are a couple of easy to read books that might help. One is called the Case for Faith and the other is called The case for Christ. They were written by an atheist who was trying, initially, to disprove Christianity or any belief in God.

You are almost there, if you want to believe..that is all it takes, a willingness to open your heart to the goodness of God..when in a terrible time of crisis you can turn to him and he will help you thru it. I am not going to preach to you as i don't go to church every sunday or every time the door opens, but I am and have always been a very spritual person. To be believe in God is one of the most comforting things in my life and I will pray that you will learn to believe in him..If you look at the beauty of this world and the wonderful people who are in it, then i think you will find a reason to believe, you just have to be open to accept him...Good luck and God Bless!

First find you a good hard-shell, fundamentalist church to start attending on a regular basis. Listen and believe in totally what the pastor tells you from the pulpit, without question. Adjust your thoughts according to his diatribes against minorities, jews, homosexuals, etc. and resolve to hate them just as he does.
Next, resolve never to read anything that would conflict with anything he has told you. Make church and religious activities the centerpoint of your life and give up drinking, dancing, and having a good time in general. Give all your worldly assets to the church. Go out and start judging your fellow man, condemning them to hell and damnation unless they too believe as you.
After all this, your are promised that you will enjoy the afterlife in heaven. (Maybe even with 40 virgins. LOL!)

First, have you found a church? Find a church, get with some believing people and join a Bible study group. Be honest about your feelings. Ask questions, if you have a problem understanding something, tell someone and ask for help. I am a Lutheran by choice. When asked what religion I am, I always say," I am a christian." I don't like to prioratize when it comes to my faith. I believe in the Holy Trinity ( father, Son & Holy spirit). I believe in the forgiveness of sin, the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. NOW, I wasn't always a christian person.. I walked through a lot of valleys before I realized my walk was taking me to a lot of desolate areas, without Jesus in my life. All I can say honey is that Jesus loves you and he is and will continue to wait for you. Don't wait too long. Life isn't a bowl of cherries and it never will be, but when you get to know your Savior and have some good christian friends to help you in your walk, it is so much more comforting. If I shared my whole story with you, I could probably be more convencing... Get to know Jesus. Wherever you are, I know there are some good christian people waiting and willing to help you. God Bless you. Father I pray for you to send help into this persons life. He wants to know you, he wants to believe. I pray for christian people to come into his life to guide him , to help him know you and the great love you have for him. Amen God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so that whomsoever believeth in him shall not parish, but have everlasting life. God wants you to have everlasting life.Which is why you have this need in your heart to want to believe.

Stop looking to believe in God. It sounds like you're trying really hard for something that is very natural. If you want to believe in God think of the thinks you're thankful for. Lookout side and find the beauty in your surroundings.

No one can make you believe, it is something you have to want for yourself. My daughter went thru the same thing, it is because you don't want to give complete control to a being that you know is there, but you want to see and can't! The enemy of all people is satan, and he holds that part of you, until you can free yourself from the way of the world, and all that satan is for, you will continue to be unable to believe.
This is a choice only you can make, but I will pray that God puts a person of faith into your path to help you understand and come to know HIM as your Lord and Saviour!! God Bless!

Some people are vessels of dishonor made to be taken and destroyed. I hope this is not the case for you. There may be a hindering spirit in your situation. Ask God to reveal the Son of God (Jesus) to you. God will not reveal Himself to someone that is not desperate for Him. So get more serious- and stay away from lukewarm, hypocrite, carnal, apathetic, Christians and churches.

First you need to desire to believe. As you desire, you begin to hope -- a hope that God is there and wants you to be happy. You must then nurture that hope by trying to do the things you know God would want if your hope is true: PRAY, Read Scriptures, and keep the commandments you know.
As you take time to pray and read etc. your hope becomes a hope of faith (you hope to have faith). And as you hope to have faith, feelings will swell in your heart which will confirm your faith.
When you obtain this faith it will be small and fragile but real. you must again nourish your new faith by continuing to pray and read and following what you come to understand. Your mind will be opened to new thoughts and understandings and these will be confirmed by the same swellings in your heart.
You will continue to change and grow as long as you never neglect your faith. You will become a new creature. This will take patience and determination.
God be with you.

You'll never believe in a God you know nothing about. Watch some Christian television, listen to a radio preacher, visit some churches, talk with a Bible believing preacher or pastor and ask you questions, ask for proof, see where it is written in God's word. Read the Bible, ask questions, talk to God and then listen. Seek him and he will reveal himself.
