It's a scam, pure an simple.
By creating the concept of Original Sin, the church stacks the deck so that everyone starts out OWING the church and needing it in order to gain salvation. And you're only going to get THAT if you attend their meetings, say their magic words, and -- yep, you guessed it -- fill their collection plate.
As someone much wiser than myself once said: if you want to know the real reason for people's actions, FOLLOW THE MONEY; and when they insist that it's not about the money, it's ALWAYS about the money....

Who told you that God is "punishing all people" because of what Adam and Eve did? I think you've received some bad religious information. The problem with these kinds of blind statements is that truth is twisted to meet someone's human agenda. Do you know or further do you even realize that you are loved for exactly who you are? You don't feel that do you? There are a lot of things that people associate religion with. A bad paternal parent. One who might be a tad over bearing or critical. A boyfriend who puts his needs above your own. Life things that hurt. In these times people get angry. Knowing that your angry with God is great. At least there is a relationship there. Think of yourself as a parent. At least there is emotion coming from you. How great is that! Now, what I would recommend you do regarding your contemptuous distain for God's inferred action is get into a bible class. Do something genuinely educational to find the truth in your question. There are religious scholars who can answer that question better than I can. There are many non-denominational churches with Precept Ministries who can teach you the real truth about God's plan for us all.

From an Islamic point of view, Adam and Eve did that mistake ( not a sin) with a good will. they descovered later their mistake so they asked God for forgiveness. God forgave their mistake.
Later, God sent Adam and Eve to settle in Earth with their sons and daughters... until the Judgment Day when everybody will be put under account of his own deeds only.
Sending humanity to the Earth is not a punishment but a predetermined plan.
So, the concept of 'The Original Sin' doesn't exist in Islam. In Islam every human being will be put underaccount for his own deeds alone. You will not be punished for a sin that someone else committed, and their is no need to kill Jesus or put him on the cross to clear our sins.
I know this sounds strange for a lot of christians, so I invite you all to read about the Islamic concepts related to Adam story, Jesus and Salvation in these trustworthy sites

When the rebellion on earth happened there was certainly a heavenly rebellion too. This heavenly rebellion went as far as some angels taking fleshly bodies. Those who ' forsook their original dwelling place'.
The issues raised by the rebellion needed an answer. God's answer will be complete and never again will his sovereignty be brought into question.
What were god's options when Adam and Eve sinned ? God ahd commanded them both not to eat from the tree in the middle of the garden. He had informed them of the consequences for taking such a course. against a warning , and against their conscience. adam and eve had produced no children when they sinned. this is accepted as fact because any children of theirs born prior to the fall from grace would have been perfect and cpould have eaten the tree of life and lived on.
So god could have had Adam and Eve die barren without children. Would that have answered Satan's taunts to god that no humans would obey him ? What did god do ? He allowed affairs to continue. He ahd to act by causing a flood because the earth was ruined ,filled with violence.
God's plan was to produce a perfect son to offfer a perfect life to buy back what Adam had lost.
Look at the bible account of Job. Particularly the first 3 chapters. Satan taunts god about our motives for serving him, and does not want any human to be obedient to god.
Luke 15 verse 28.
Satan will be removed someday, and will be completely removed when god brings in his order.
The chaos we have is down to God allowing things to advance to see if us hamans are better off wthout god's guidance. there are Universal issues of God's sovereignty and obedience to him involved. God does not hild us accountable. That is why he purposes that all mankind be raised to perfection. Then the devil is let loose again.
So all mankind, deemed worthy will have perfect life like Adam and Eve and then the devil will go to work again.
Then after the final battle he will be removed.
Revelation to John.

People are not punished for Adam and Eve's sin, but because it has been shown, by each of us sinning, that they were accurate representatives of what anyone else would have done in the same situation. And not all brown haired men are murderers, or thieves, or slanderers, etc., but all humans are sinners.

I see djfjedi1976 has indicated to you the best answer.
God is not punishing everyone for the sins of Adam and Eve but rather has provided for everyone to be saved.
Because God is love He is not willing for any to perish and that includes Adam and Eve.
The only way of salvation possible was if God took human form and suffered the punishment for us.
This required human offspring from Adam and Eve.
And this was accomplished in Jesus Christ.
Thus perfect justice is met and forgiveness is enabled without offending against perfect justice. God retains His perfections and secures a solution to the problem of sin introduced by Satan.
God's purposes and plans for humans have not been stopped or prevented and Satan stands utterly condemned before all.
What wonderful vindication of an all loving, all good God!
Sadly there are those who will believe Satan's lies rather than God Who has shown and proved the infinite extent of His love and concern to the supreme degree.
He will forgive us and purge us from our sin if we but believe Him, but if we will not, we remain in our sin.
How can it be right that we should impose our vile sinfulness upon a pure and holy and loving God? He must banish us if we remain in our sins. Otherwise His perfection would be compromised and heaven would no longer be heaven for Him or for all others. That is surely why He rightly hates sin.
Most sadly those who refuse and remain in their sinfulness will suffer and share in the right punishment that Satan will receive.
Yet God could not make it easier - no works or penances - simply to trust Him.
You speak of fairness. Is it not then fair to say we choose to be punished for the passing and wretched pleasures of sin for a short season?
God remains infinitely loving and good and perfectly just and fair.

Try to look at it like this:
God is God, we're not. He gets to make the rules and decide what's fair and what's not.
Adam and Eve broke the rules.
What Adam and Eve did changed the lives of all of their decendents. (It had to be a change in something in the male chromosomes because Jesus came from a human woman.) Through the sin of one man, Adam, sin came into humanity and created a large gulf between God and man.
God gave us Jesus to bridge that gap and allow us access to Him.
Those who believe on Jesus, even though they're dead, will have earned eternal life.

According to the New Testament, the human race has become corrupt in its thinking and behaviour.
Adam and Eve as the believed initial progenitors were regarded as having yielded to Satan for the first time. The rot then set in, and so you see Cain murdering his brother Abel. (I think Satan corrupted men, but don't believe the A&E account literally.)
If you see direct "face-to-face" encounters with God in the Old Testament, God is scary in His perfection to us humans. E.g. Moses would die if He saw God, Isaiah was intensely aware of His sin when encountering God in the Temple. The high priest was only allowed to go in the Holy of Holies where the Shekinah presence of God resided on the day of Atonement.
After I believed in the christian message I have had many experiences of God's presence (n.b. my faith is still very immature). God sometimes manifests His intense love and at some times His absolute purity - there is a whopping huge difference between us - who have sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23) - and Him. If you believe in Christ as your Saviour you are counted righteous and your sins forgiven.

That's why my Church says: We believe that men will be punished for their own sins and not for Adam's transgression.
Adam and Eve brought the knowledge of good and evil into the world. That opens the way for us to have our free will -- the ability to choose either good or bad options. We are responsible for whatever choices we make and not for the choice that Adam and Eve made.

When the devil entices you with sin, have you done a lot better than Adam and Eve? Or do you live by the Word of God and obey everything that God said?
A lot more than 2 individuals have sinned in this world.

He's not punishing us for what Adam & Eve did.
When A&E sinned, they started the ball rolling passing down to us the knowledge of good and evil.
Each of us is then faced with free will choices to make, but all of us can turn to God through Jesus Christ.
Make the right choices and punishment will be avoided.
The consequences of our choices can be judgment, or blessings.
It's your choice.
