A law is needed to ban divorce except adultry.
I think people would think about the commitment and not just a lackadaisical lust attraction.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/yxS7o

Jesus said,"27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,[c] ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[d] 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt 5:27-28 if this is the case everyone would go to jail then. If you do not have Jesus to take your punishment then you will be punished for adultery. If you break one law you are guilty of breaking them all. Jesus will forgive you if you believe and repent. You may not have tomorrow, change your life today!

well, perhaps it's a better idea for children to suffer more from people who just can't live together and constantly fight and argue huh? What terrific role models they'd be to their children, especially at a time when children are learning about relationships.
I'm not saying that adultery is a good thing, it's not, but it's hardly a prisonable offence...I believe that if you know your eyes are wondering elsewhere then it's time to reflect on what's failing in your marriage, and if there's no chance of reconcilliation, then it's time, especially if there's children involved, to say goodbye and move on. Trust me, from my own experience, the children will be much happier with happier separated parents, rather then parents that just don't get along or have no relationship to speak of.

I'd like to see how many good Christians would go to jail along with all the sinners if there was such a law. By the way, anybody that has looked at a woman lustfully has also committed adultery in their hearts.

their are 3 main problems with your suggestion:
1) the amount of ppl commiting adultery daily is a horrendous amount and therefore there wouldnt be enough prisons to keep them there.
2) anyone can claim that thier husband/wife is commiting adultery, you need proof. what are the chances that adulterers will be caught in film, or photos commiting the sin in the first place? and if people are believed at face value, innocent ppl will be suffering in prison.
3) if you are a believer that adultery is a sin, then you should accept other teachings of the christian faith, that says God will punish those who commit the sins, it is not our place as humans to deliver punishment.
btw im not a christian, but have much knowledge about it.

One of the most common questions spouses ask when confronting a marriage crisis is this: How can I save my marriage if my partner doesn't want to help find a solution? How do I succeed I am trying to save my marriage on my own? Learn here https://tr.im/olWkD
It is a typical enough story: one partner leaves, the other stays. One remains 'in love', the other is uncertain. Whatever it is that has caused a couple to be apart, the one person who remains bears the prospect, fear, doubt, desire, hope of saving his or her marriage' alone.

First off, work on your own backyard before you tell others to clean up theirs. You want adultery to be illegal... then start in your churches..... considering the majority claims to be Christian in this country and with the divorce rate higher than any other nations (of which most is due to Adultery), I'd suggest you work first on those who call themselves Christian FIRST... before you try to pull this righteous crap on us heathens.
BTW, statistics show that those who are outside of Christianity, normally don't have adulterous affairs, nor do they have as many, percentage wise, divorces as Christians do.
Most of the founders were Deists. You should read their memoirs before saying these things. Just because someone goes to a Christian Church, obviously, doesn't make them a Christian... no more than me standing in a garage makes me a car mechanic.

I wish things like this would be enforced. It might have saved my marriage. Jail time for adultery has been around and sadly lost. Between me and you I think life, and laws, and morals should all be based on what God tells us. What He tells us to do, really, really isn't hard to do. It is just some find easier to give in to sin so it will accommodate our lives better.

Yes, let's fill up our already crowded prisons with people who have sex. That makes sense. We won't have room for people who commit real crimes like murder, so we'll let them stay at your house. Sound good?
I don't agree with cheating on spouses....but prison time....come on!
And no, the founding fathers did NOT want that.
