I use a teaspoon of cooking oil in there food once a week and a wire brush. But to be honest, all that does is cut down the shedding, cats will shed no matter what you do. It will calm down soon on its own once they have there winter coat off. Hope that helps.

Well...it is that time of year. Are you brushing your cats daily so not so much is ending up on furniture, clothes, etc? I got my long haired cat shaved a month ago....goofy looking as hell, but right now she's loving it (it's been in the 90s here) and not so much in the way of shedding.

Well, there's no way to STOP a cat from shedding, but a good brushing will prevent hair from getting all over the place. It will help prevent hairballs as well.

They can't 'stop' shedding. Brush them every day. They have these things called 'purr pads' at petsmart. cats lay on them and it acts like a magnet for theire loose fur. They also have these things that you can put on the corner of your walls and couch that when they rub against them, it collects their loose fur. Their called 'cat-a-comb' corner mounted brush.

Brush them daily. I have a ragdoll who sheds a lot and it is the best thing I know to do. A bath once a month also seems to help.

I don't know what you're feeding him, but you could try a brand of super premium food. Something like Natural Balance, or Innova (I don't know if they make cat food or not, check with them).
You could also check out thecatsite.com, click on forums, and find the nutrition one, there is loads of information there that can help you.

You can't. Animals lose their winter coats about this time of year so they can have a summer coat. Then it will stop until they need the winter coat back.

It might help if you brush them more often. The longer their hair, the more often. Long-haired cats should be brushed practically every day.
