Photoshop is superior and industry standard. Corel's line is also most frequently used because its cheaper. From the companies that I've researched...i've never heard of them using paint shop pro.

Paint Shop Pro is much simpler to use than Photoshop, but doesn't have all the features and control of Photoshop. Paint Shop Pro is about $100. Photoshop is about $600. You might want to try GIMP. It's free and has a lot of the features of Photoshop.

Photoshop is more advanced, but offers more. I have Paint Shop Pro 9, which is a great software, and is also cheaper.

You don't need to spend so much on either of those two choices. Many programs that are enormously cheaper can do the exact same as those two programs, but with a much easier-to-understand format. Don't spend all that money when you don't have to; just get something like PhotoStudio. I got mine for free when I bought a scanner.

Photoshop is the industry standard graphics manipulator and has many more functions then any other graphics manipulator on the market.
