My aunt stays in Minnesota and she wants to buy a car,but needs a co~signer if I went up there to visit could I co~sign even though I'm from Illinois?

Yes you can. Just remember that you assume the full debt should your aunt default on the loan.

Sure, all that matters to the lender is that you are able to cover the debt, in the event your aunt defaults.
