The evil you know vs. the evil you don't? Sometimes people only remember the good parts of a relationship. And after the drama has subsided they aren't as angry or upset at their ex so it looks like a good idea.

Also people who enter a relationship right after leaving one almost never stay with the new person long. I would say don't date someone who just broke up.

Going back to an ex is easier than starting a new relationship because it's familiar, you're used to the person and maybe they believe that they can change whatever went wrong... I think putting yourself out there and trusting new people can be intimidating, but i think anyone who has taken a trip into the past figures out really quickly that the past is there for a reason. I think it's harder to imagine the light at the end of the tunnel...so often people go back to a secure place. I actually think this does happen a lot. Not that it ever really works but it does happen a lot even if it's those few phone calls just to hear a comforting voice after you've broken up with someone.

Most likely because they have a history with their ex. And rather than starting something new, it's alot easier to go back to someone who you know all about and are comfortable with.

None of the women I know have gone back to their Ex. They usually leave them for good reasons.

i think you are picking the wrong women cause none of my friends have ever gone back with their exs . also could be cause they are scared of new relationships and the old ones are familiar and secure to them . I know it is weird . good luck .

because it's territory they have already mastered. They don't have to start from scratch again. A lot of people would be more comfortable with it because they know how to act already.

Safety blanket. They figure they have been there once and know all about it, so they cruise right back. New is scary to some...
