It can't be "verified" because it's been proven to be fake.

In the pic that everyone saw, the boy is 8 feet behind the hog to make it look bigger than it is. In the hanging pic, the boy and his dad are standing about 11 feet behind the hog.
It's forced perspective crap and nothing more.
At least in the Hogzilla story, there was a carcass that could be weighed to see. In this story, the cameras either got stolen/lost/didn't work, the witnesses happened to be looking the other way, the carcass got ground up before anyone could measure it etc.

It was a canned hunt. It said in the article I read he shot it at Lost Creek Plantation a hunting reserve. Look up Lost Creek Plantation on the Internet. There is a picture of the Kid. I have hunted reserves before. You are hunting in a fenced in area and they hogs are raised in a barn and let go a couple days before you arrive. Usually they use dogs. I was disappointed when I first hunted like this. I like a fair chase hunt. The hog weren't going no where, but back home with the kid after his dad paid $$$ 's for it.

Just a note for the guy who said Hogzilla was much smaller that the farmer had claimed. It still turned out to be massive, at around 800 pounds.
Could you imagine, just for a minute, how unbelievably intimidating that thing would look, if it actually is real, if you ran into it while taking a walk in the woods.

I do not think so. That hog was as big as an M4A3 Sherman and must have had a gristle layer 3.5+ inches thick, not to mention a bullet proof skull. How could he have had the nerve to stand there with a pistol and plink at it? It seems odd. tf

There was another "Story" like this one several years ago. Hogzilla. When they dug it up it ended up being a lot smaller than the farmer claimed.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere that both the photos and what was left of the remains were closely scrutinised and, while it undoubtedly was a big b ugger, it was nowhere near 1000lbs.
