I just received my certificate in medical transcriptioning. Does anyone know of a work from home job available? I can't seem to find any online. I thought this would be a good option to stat at home with my kids, but now I am thinking there are no medical facilities who hire transcriptionists that won't be in the office. Someone help please...I don't know where to look or start...

Try this link:

It lists companies, by state, that hire home-based medical transcriptionists.

These days many companies are outsourcing much of the work to India and other countries, but there is still a need for English-speaking transcriptionists and proofreaders willing to work full-time from home.

Good luck!!

Try calling hospitals and doctor's offices and just asking them (1) if they hire transcriptionists who work from home; and (2) if they're hiring.

You may have to get some experience under your belt before they'll let you do that. I for for a Cardiology practice, and most of the ones here do, but they come in once a week or so. Are you in Louisville, KY?

Initially they expect you to work from the office and only after a few years of experience and proven quality, they will allow you to work from home. Pl. don't give up hope.
