SEVERAL TIMES! I've also voiced my opinion to McCain, Kyl, Hillary and several others!

I called Feinstein's office after she said she hadn't received enough comments against amnesty (she only had 8,000 calls and said she thought that 30,000 calls would indicate that people were upset). Her office said they would pass along my comment - probably passed along to the "circular file!"

Yes, I have, and many thanks to you for posting links so that others may as well. Some people avoid the news like the plague because it is depressing ( I have a family member who is like that). But it is more important than ever that we make our feelings known.
By the way, I support reforming our immigration, because it is not working. But I don't support giving amnesty to all who decide to enter. They broke the law just coming here. So, those "hardworking, law abiding" illegal immigrants broke their first law when they came here without permission. So, does immigration need a good working over? Yes, it needs to work in such a way that we know what immigrants are coming in, and those we don't know about, can't get in.
Please, if you are against Amnesty, help out. Go sign the petition, let your congressperson know how you feel. One rain drop does not make a flood, it is when many join together that it causes change.

The way I feel about amnesty is this: If we cannot or will not enforce the laws we have now, then we might as well let everyone in and make them pay taxes. I would lots rather have the laws enforced. However, since it looks like that will not happen, give all of them that have a job a SS#. The ones that are here to be in gangs and steal or sell drugs, throw their @ss in prison.

Why bother? Although they're 'supposedly' elected to represent the electorate, the majority appear to represent the agenda of their party. Not only that, it seems that all of this stuff about immigration reform, especially from the liberals, is not about immigration, but designed primarily to solicit - and ensure - the Hispanic/Latino vote. Is there another country - especially non-English speaking - in the world that caters to illegals, spending billions of taxpayer dollars on social programs for them, or doesn't require them to be fluent in that country's language to become a citizen? Have the liberal democrats in both houses from California given any thought to where they'll end up when it becomes Mexifornia and they are the minority?

Why are you wasting your time? Your congressman's assistant doesn't even look at your letter. It is processed by some intern whose rich daddy got them the position so they can party in Georgetown. You will have a greater affect by sending a donation to the PAC that supports your position. They will be able to get into and influence the congressman.

Keep the pressure on!!!

Unfortunately for us the bill (S. 1348) won't come close to ending illegal immigration - It must not pass!

No Computerized Exit System to know when temporary workers & visitors have overstayed their visas and become illegal aliens.

Amnesty is given before enforcement and before any triggers have to be certified.

Enforcement Triggers are about process but not about results of actually reducing illegal immigration actions in brief:

I've made calls, written letters and sent faxes and I don't think it will matter very much. Congresspeople will do what is in their OWN best interests, not the will of the people.

30 minutes this morning which is pretty quick for me, I like to give them a lot to digest rather than just a quick sound bite.

I do all the time...

I also tell them that this is nothing more than treason.

I am not very friendly about it...but I also let them know that I vote...as well as the rest of my family!!
