A cult is a religion that inhibits it's followers from being able to reason for themselves. They teach theirs is the only way. They take money. They insist everyone else is wrong.

So with that being said cults affect people's right to co-exist in harmony with their neighbors and fellow man.

For me a cult is any belief based on information which adds to..., or detracts from..., the Bible. Cults often prey on our general lack of knowledge beyond a belief in God, and use that to spread whatever doctrine they want. They play on emotion and seek to find your inner most thoughts to exploit, and they are fairly succesful since there are a lot of insecure people in the world.

They draw people away from the search for the real truth about God. That "draw" is evil a.k.a. as the Diabolical One.

When God shows truth, he gives you an ear to compare religion not to be saduced by it. Cults saduced ones thinking into believing wrong is right outside of knowing Jesus Christ which is the key to truth, he died for it...
