Winrar is just a compression application.
It's kind of like Winzip.
You can extract Windows Vista from it find you have it compressed using Winrar.
But you cannot simply just get Vista off it.

You can use winrar to unzip zip files (or to open compressed folder). 7zip or winzip are other softwares you can use for the same purpose but winrar is by far the best one. All these programs work in a very similar way: you just have to right click the file to zip or unzip any folders or files.
If you don't want a trial version don't worry. The trial period of winrar never ends so you can use it for free with no limitations.
With WINRAR you will be able to open all the type of compressed folder like file .zip, .rar, .7z, .7zip .iso, .tar, .jar etc... that's the main reason why I recommend it.

Winrar (like WInzip, it major competitor) is a program that allows you to reduce the size of files when you want to transfer them such as in an Internet download or as an e-mail attachment. The smaller the file, the faster the download.
Once you have downloaded a RAR (or ZIP) file, you have to use Winrar to decompress that file back to its original form before you can use it.
Since it is possible to put any kind of a file into a RAR file, it would be possible to compress all of Windows Vista into a RAR and make it available as a download. (But that would be illegal)

WinRAR is made by RARSoft. It is a file decompression program. It is similar to UnZip programs like WinZip, but is far better than most of them. Anything that you download that is archived (compressed) has to be uncompressed before use. WinRAR is associated with archive files after instalation and when it opens it shows what is inside and gives options to decompress, recompress, etc. It cannot be used to download Vista or anything else for that matter. It is not a download pgm. Want to download, use file share pgm or access and use torrent sites that are all over net.

winrar is a program that zips and un-zips large files (kinda like packing your suitcase with cloths) your question is confusing but vista will run the program no winrar will not download windows vista.
