What is the first thing you do in the morning?

I try to pray first thing in the morning, unless my husband wakes me up to get his socks, underwear, tshirt from the laundry.

Wake up to contemporary Christian praise music, stumble out of bed (it's 4:15 a.m.), grab my Bible and do some reading and prayer when I'm fully awake.

There's a potty break in there somewhere, but that would have spoiled the narrative.......

I say a quick prayer of Thanksgiving for allowing me another day and keeping my family safe.....and then the children and life's responsibilities take over.....

I go back to sleep!! But seriously, I say:
لآ اِلَهَ اِلّا اللّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُوُل اللّهِ
Lā ilāha illā-llāh, Muhammadu-rasūlu-llāh
There is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
And I thank God for granting me another day to live.

when i open my eyes on bed, just join both hands as if a n open book and chant
karagre vasate lakshmi
karamadhye saraswati
karamoole sthita gauri
prabhate kara darshanam

(i took darshan - having holy view- of my hand because, there lives lakshmi on starting of hand, in the middle saraswati and at the tip gauri)

and after that i chant

samudra vasane devi
parvata stana mandale
vishnu patni namastubham
padasparsham khamaswa me

(he devi, who lives in sea, who's breasts are mountains, who is also wife of vishnu please forgive me for i'm placing my legs on you)

Well i cant help watching a movie....on a weekday....end up going to work like a zombie.

I bow my head to mother earth that it is bearing me since my existence & would do so not only till my end but after that too (panchtatvas would merge with it), and what I do with her ! so long I am awaken crush it by this & that means, yet she (earth) put me in her laps at night when I am at sleep.

Make myself a cup of tea and then watch either MTV or CNN (depending on my mood) for half hour.
