Well, if you're past your initial healing period (about 8-10 weeks for a nostril), you can get a clear acrylic retainer at your local piercing studio for about $10. It won't be invisible, but it should hide it pretty well.
If the boss doesn't like it, then you have to decide between that job or the piercing.

You can either take it out or bring up the idea that you wear a retainer.
A retainer is a clear or slightly pink tinted piece of jewelry meant for use in healed piercings. It makes the piercing much less noticeable but you can still see it if you are looking for it.
Talk with your boss about the option of a retainer and if he or she doesn't approve, you'll have to decide between a job or a piercing.

Yes you take it out! Young people don't understand that when they get piercings and tattoo's that employers are not going to hire you. (Unless you go for a job at a radio station or record shop)
You have to remember that your representing their company, and most times that's not what they consider professional, but rebellious. The employer wants his company to be taken seriously, and considered professional and capable of handling the job.
So take it out for work, put it back for your own personal time.

When you were hired, did you have this nose piercing? Or did you get it after you were hired? Either way, he can not ask you to remove your nose piercing, nor can he fire you for it as it would be discriminatory. Check w/a lawyer if it gets to that point (consulations are usually free).

Yes, your employer DOES have the right to have you remove nose rings and other jewelry that can detract from his/her business. So just take it out and put it back in after work. Not a big deal, is it?

Depends on what your boss will allow. Where i used to work, they had to be removed, and depending on the size of the hole, sometimes a bandaid was required to cover. same went with eyebrow and lip piercings.

If you wished to experience continued employment at your present job, I would say that it would be in your best interests to remove the stud.
