I do in some ways believe in God but i have trouble understanding why so many innocent children are mudered and or abused by their own parents. If God knows all and sees all why then does he permit these senseless crimes against little children who do not want anything but love from their parents.Abuse or muder against adults is bad enough but muder and abuse on little children should not be something that is easy to ignor no matter what your belief's are.I would like to hear from other people on what they think about this ongoing and worseining problem.God is supposed to love his children not let them die from by their parents hands or anyone elses hands.

The answer you will most likely get from Christians about why God allows suffering in the world is that human beings have free will. Obviously this answer isn't good enough and it doesn't really answer the question at all. If 'God' has the power to stop these occurances and he is supposed to be so compassionate, how could he possibly allow these types of things to happen?

First off, it is not a sin to question. I believe that God welcomes our questions. I, too get upset by these senseless crimes against innocent children. And honestly, I do not know why it is allowed to happen. The most common answer that you will hear is that we all have free will. Another one is that when Eve ate of the apple she ushered sin and evil into this world and that satan is the prince of this world and that he is temporarily in control. Some people say that God has taken His hands off of this world and will not take control again until Jesus returns. As a Christian I see it as a combination of all of these things. But, everything that everyone says will only be as they understand it. And we can never understand things fully, because our minds cannot compare to the mind of God. I just trust God.

The 'Question of Evil' is a big one that we often struggle with. Many people have offered many ways of looking at it, and my viewpoint is neither unique nor necessarily even close to right.

First of all is the issue of the nature of God. Saying 'God loves His children' IMPLIES that He wants then all happy and free, and that He Himself will insure this.

We think and say this because we think of God as a parent, but He is not. He is our creator and totally outside of being human. We have more in common with a goldfish than we do with God. We know what -we- mean when we say we love someone, but we really have no idea of what God means by it.

We also have the problem of having very short lives and being unable to see the 'big picture'- we only know what we can feel and touch right now, while God deals with all time and all space. He sees all the ramifications of each event, and pretty much only He is in a position to judge whether the 'evil' is worth it. Bad things often have good outcomes- but not in a way that we can easily percieve.

Then there is the issue of free will. Is GOD doing this to people, or are people with free will doing this? If God DID interfere, what implications would that have? If everyone was safe and protected, would God be doing His job, or would He have destroyed free will?

Another aspect is even more controversial. We, as a society, claim to love and cherish children (I say 'claim to' because it is hard to see this in action sometimes). Historically, children are not held in high esteem. What is the chance that children are NOT more special to God than anyone else is? Phrasign it the way you did makes it very tragic and emotional- but is it this way in God's eyes?

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the arguement. It is my personal opinion, however, that these things are generally mor of a smoke screen than the real questions. In my mind the real questions are 'is there a god', and 'if so, how does this affect me?'

I was hoping someone else would have the correct answer.

All these evil things written here is because of Satan. The bible says "he is the ruler of this world". (John 14:30; Eph. 2:2; 2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Cor. 10:20) He started and promoted all this and men eagerly went along for greed and power.

God's authority to rule His creations was questioned by Satan. God has allowed the past 6,000 years to settle the matter. Man has proved what a losey job he can do at ruling himself with Satan running the earth.

Fortunately, God will not permit it to continue. Shortly He will wipe out the evil infesting earth and restore His original purpose of paradise earth.

It says, in scripture that judgment of those who harm children will be worse. I do not understand why we as humans can be so horrible to each other- however God loves us enough to make a way for us- and that is through the blood of His precious and perfect Son Jesus. I agree that is beyond me how parents or other adults could even consider such a crime against a child- One day God will make all things right- and until that time we just to trust Him- He does love His children, all ages!!!

God gave us all free will, which means he lets us make our own decisions. Yes some people make bad decisions and it affects others. We are all sent here on a mission. It is in how we live our lives, treat others, if we will obtain the kingdom of God. If you read or want to read any books, I suggest EMBRACED BY THE LIGHT by Betty Eadie. There it talks about many things you would like answered, in a nutshell, we originate in heaven(our souls) some of us choose to come here with downs syndrome etc, because of what we can teach another. God gave us free will, in esscence we are responsible for ourselves and each other.

You people love to beat this one to death. Let's lay this to rest, once and for all. If you don't like the way things are going, fight God all the way to hell. You'll get your explanation, eventually. But once you eyes are opened, it'll be too late to say, "Oh, I see!" And God or Christians don't have to defend themselves against any of these inane questions. Especially since you probably aren't doing anything besides complaining about it.

This age has to run it's course.Jesus said if anyone hurts a child it would be better for them to tie a stone around their neck and jump into the sea ,than to face him on judgment day.People have to be responsible for their actions.God is not a "genie" you can summon nor Superman who shows up in the nick of time.
It's up to US to put a stop to these things. And remember 70 or 80 years down here are nothing,a cup of water out of the ocean, compared to eternity. Those kids will be in Bliss for ever and the perpetrators in torment forever.Jesus said about kids that die,"Their spirits are always be in the presence of my Father

Everyone of any age is a natural child of God.

Violence and man's inhumanity to man is part of our way of life, chosen from ancient times.

God permits us to have free will, and he provides grace and truth in order to allow us to choose right from wrong.

All this depravity will stop as soon as we make up our own minds to stop it, or until Jesus comes back to personally enforce his standards.

Until then, don't blame God.

Humans make the world what it is. Not God. We have to take responsibility for the world WE created and stop using God as a scapegoat. If you don't like, do something about it.
