It is generally presumed that religious people will display a more loving and accomodative disposition with others. On the contrary I have observed that many people who are religious, while they claim that they are great devotees of God,appear to be rigid and insensitive to the needs of fellow human beings.I do not require explanations whatsoever.I just wish to know whether your observations are also similar to that of mine.

They are insensitive even with their near and dear ones which makes it even worse.

Religious Disposition, I do agree that I see the same disposition. I have been a christian for a very long time, and I can never quite understand the reason for it because Jesus is a loving, kind and gentle father. There was none of that type of disposition with him.

In the US, there are an estimated 224m Christians, 4m Jews and 1.5m Muslims as of 2004.

So, with around 230m theistic religious folks in the US, I'm guessing you are going to run into some who don't behave as their religion instructs.

I observe the same thing as you note, but understand people are flawed.

You must distinguish between true Christians and false ones.

False Christians have started and conducted most of the wars in history.

True Christians have love among themselves and for others. They have nothing to do with politics or wars just as Jesus instructed. Where ever you go on the planet, they are in agreement, teaching the same in the US or Tibet.

i chanced on an same project/analogy a lengthy time period back. It is going something like; you're on your room and hear a thud on your closet. You inspect the closet to locate that a field of books has slipped off the properly shelf to the floor. you may ask your daughter which seems more beneficial probably: A) The field fell because it become positioned precariously and easily settled and shifted by the years till it fell. or B)The field fell because your cat bushed adversarial to it, knocking it down, and then fled from the closet with out you noticing. This project invokes Occam's (sp?) Razor. in case you do not believe the field fell by utilising itself, then you invent a reason behind it (like a cat knocking it over with out you noticing). although, Occam's Razor is the concept you narrow back out unnecessary steps. you may say that this is not mandatory for there to were a cat for the field to have fallen; that it might want to have basically fell by utilising itself. an same will be reported for God; that for an infinite majority of organic occurrences a God isn't mandatory, and hence you ought to not swiftly make that leap in good judgment. (in case you opt to comprise ghosts in it, basically replace cat with ghost)

More religious you get especailly as regard to worship and sect etc you become rather conservative and not so broadminded, it shows in your behaviour and your acceptance of other faiths. I think we should lock up religion at home and move as good humans outside home. religions do cultivate giving/charity may be something wrong with the devotees then.

Every religion gives pardon to its member for their mistakes and sin. They formed so many rituals, prayer and cash offering to gods - to get free from their sin etc. Some religion
give pardon every week end. so the religious minded people
think they are free to do anything in their life. This kind of thing continued from the beginning of the human life. we cannot
expect other things from them.

Religious people are exactly how you describe in your question.
If you find a CHRISTIAN you will find someone who is truly compassionate of others!

Christian means Christ like, Christ loved and gave to the needs of the people! Religion makes things difficult for anything other then the needs of it's own.

Honestly my mom and dad taught me to be a good person. My faith just reiterates it. My husband is atheist and came from an AWFUL home and is the most dedicated father I have ever seen even with out religion. It has to do with the person not the faith.

I agree in part. Moderately religious people do tend to be quite accepting of different beliefs, but the far right of any religion tends to be so filled with certitude that they seek to repress others based on their own beliefs.

I don't know what to think about the things you have said! I am a christian and I do not judge or mistreat others! I don't know the insensitive kind you are speaking of.
