Water is the best thing for you and I doubt that you HAVE to drink anything else. I think you CAN drink some diet soda or tea as long as you mostly have water. I think that there is such a thing as drinking too much water and sort of flooding your body with it but just drink for thirst and you will be fine.
Lose weight slowly and it stays off longer, by the way. Really, please don't be in too much of a hurry - you didn't put the weight on overnight, your body needs to take time to drop the weight too. Good luck!

When a woman tells her weight she will gain 5 pounds.
Eating properly and exercise is the way to lose weight.
I enjoy Fruit and Vegetable Juices, but, drink water throughout the day. Water is considered the universal body solvent and the body needs water for proper digestion.
Most Diet plans work, if, a person stay with it.
Eating correctly and getting the calories we need to stay active also works.
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
On left click "My Pyramid Plan". This give the calories you need for your activity in the proper food group proportions.
What I do, say my calorie intake is 1800 per day and I want to lose some weight. I may drop my calories to 1200-1500 and keep my present activity. How I do this. When you enter your weight say it give you 1600 calories. Go back and enter your target weight or less to get the next drop in Calories, it may say 1400 or you can enter weight until it show 1200. The main thing I doing is find what I "Need" to eat to lose weight slowly and maintain that weight. You not want to go from a 1600 calorie diet to a 1000. Lower it over time as you slowly lose weight.
Then when you know what amount you need from each food group, sit down and plan your meals for the week. Eat "BEFORE" you go to the store, and buy what on the list.

#1...AVOID diet sodas at all costs...(they will actually help you put on MORE weight.)
#2...90 fl oz of water is a touch overboard...in fact, it could do you some harm. Many vitamins are water soluable...so if you drink excessive amounts of water, you will actually deprive youself of critical vitamins.
As for the unsweetened tea, that might work, since caffeine is used as an active ingredient in diet pills, and each cup of ("normal") tea has twice the caffiene of a cup of coffee. The unsweetened part can work to your advantage too, since sugar is a diuretic, and that means you'll have to pee more often, flushing things you don't necessarily want flushed.
Vary your liquids, fruit juices (unsweetened), milk, tea, etc.
As for "flushing" your body, eating right does that on it's own, and the so-called "purifying" diets are actually harmful.
Finally, drinking excessive amounts of water also have the disadvantage of being dangerously lethal. It has been known to cause people to "drown" without actually being *in* water.

Well, I know I should be out doing what your doing but Im not lol. Im working on it though. I drink alot of water, more than usual, I drink about 15-20 cups of water a day. Okay maybe not that much maybe I would say 10 glasses of water easily. and I drink about one Dr. Pepper a day when I have it. But there has been times where I just dont wanna drink anything besides water. But since your trying to lose weight you could drink a diet soda, or green tea. I heard Green tea has like negative calories or soemthin like that. But yeah, dont only drink all water, but limit yourself to how much other stuff you drink.

No - coke and sweet drinks give you empty calories, in other words, you don't need this kind of energy. The sugar rush you get from refined sugar-containing foods like soft drinks and junk food like chips may make you feel hyper and like you have tons of energy to burn..but why give yourself extra to burn when you want to burn body fat?
Consuming alot of refined carbohydrates also builds insulin resistance, which means your body has to produce more insulin to bring down blood sugar levels. The more insulin your body produces, the more likely your cells will store excess energy from food as fat. So if you want to control your weight in the long run, aim at controlling blood sugar levels too.
There is no rule stating you must drink half your body weight each day. It all depends on how hard you exercise each day, how much you sweat thanks to the weather..etc.

I wouldn't drink ANY soda....Not while your walking! Water is fine for you to take while your walking, and keeping yourself hydrated is smart. We as humans have used it for centuries, and it hasn't killed us yet! But if you are looking for that something else to drink while your walking maybe just to shut her up about it, try one of those fitness waters like "Propel".
http://www.webmd.com/diet/guide/super-waters-health-or-hype
But what your doing is just fine....Don't let her bully you, and tell her that you are listening, and weighing your options, but whatever you decide is what your going to stick with. Chances are, she is just jealous that you can stick with just plain water (with which you'll be healthy and hydrated) and she just can't break herself from the sweet tasting caffeine filled habit.
Hope to have helped
