Fish can represent financial blessings or people. But you said there were many fish in your tank which means whatever they represent, they have grown beyond the confines of their tank and it's time to expand. That's why the fish keep jumping out, because it's time to expand. Likewise, their may be an area in your life where it's time for you to make room for something else and more. The fish being smooth to the touch represents something being "finished", "polished, and ready. Okay take care.

To dream about fish or fishing denotes energy and economy. A fish in clear water expresses freedom related with your feelings.A fish is a common symbol of fertility, which in psychological terms means a promise of personal growth.
Fish, being cold blooded and primitive creatures, may symbolize a deep level of unconsciousness. Fish are symbols for describing psychic happenings or experiences that suddenly dart out of the unconscious and have a frightening or redeeming effect. Fish may also represent libido or greed.
and lastly a fish is a symbol of Christ and may therefore function psychologically as a symbol of your true self.

It sounds as if you have a task in your real life that you feel you cannot keep up with. The frustration is reflected in your inability to put and keep fish in the tank.
