Depends on what you are looking for.Unconditional love 24/7 or independence and only wanting you when they want. If you are home alot them a dog is the way to go more work but also more love. If you are gone alot then a cat because they are independent and a fuzz ball makes them happy as long as they have their food and water.I personally like both but for companionship and love you can not ask for anything better than a dog. Mid size best choice. Even the big ones want to be lap dogs.

I think cats are the better choice. Why? Because cats tear up less things then Dogs and makes less noice then a dog, and they get their own exercise. Another pet I would recommand is a rabbit because unlike cats and dogs, they make next to nothing noise, They do not get on your nerves, and they can be litter trained.

I would say personaly... dogs . I know they deffinetly are not perfect. My dog Nyx (pronounced nicks) always pooped in the house and it was so frustrating training here. Now she is a very obedient dog. Cats are also good but not perfect either my two cats use my bed as a litterbox so its not that great at bedtime.I still love them. Cats are good to because they look at you with their big eyes and they are so playful if they are not to fat so it depends its your opinoindo some research

Which is better?

The BEST thing is your love and committment and devotion and your KNOWLEDGE of the Responsilibilites and patience that come with having a pet of any kind.

Some people are "dog people". Some are "cat People" or "Rabbit People" or "Ferret People" or.....anything else-- you name it--

I'm a "cat Person" -- even tho I also love dogs, I am happier having cats in my house -- they are fascinating "purrsons" with their own personalities -- they love me, I love them and care for them -- in sickness and in health, for better or for worse. They re easygoing (or sometimes crazy little rambunctious critters) and don;t need to be walked -- my cats are strictly indoors, altho I have a VERY SAFE porch enclosure for them to go onto and enjoy the fresh air.

Some of us "resonate" better with a specific type of animal

The IMPORTANT thing a potential Dog owner needs to know is that Dog Obedience School is Vital for a good owner/dog relationship and it benefits the whole neighborhood as well.

Cats if you don't want a needy pet. However, I love the attention a dog will always give you when asked. Cats can be very tempermental and want to be left alone. It depends on what you want. with cats you can leave lots of food, water and litterbox and know your cat will take care of itself. Dogs can't be left alone. So its up to your schedule, living arrangements and what you want. They can both have their own rewards. How about one of each?

if your lazy like me then cats are better but if you love spending alot of time training your animal then a dog. dogs are a lot of work, when they are puppies, when they are adult and trained properly it can be very rewarding but it takes alot of time and patience to train, my husbands dog is 14 and so smart and well behaved, all the dogs ive ever had were crazy and wild because i have no patience for that kind of stuff.

Cats just do their own thing, one of mine even goes out side to poop!!!!!!!!!

Dogs can be friendlier, but cats are more independent. I, honestly, would prefer dogs, but if you don't want to have to give it almost nonstop attention, you want a cat. Oh, but if you do get a cat, you don't want to ignore it. Give it plenty of attention, and it should grow up friendly.

I have both cats and dogs. But my dog Butch has made dogs my favorite.
He was the best pet I could ever ask for and I will forever miss him.
