Puffiness has several factors (one is sleeping with your head too low) but dark circles are hereditary...and are nothing more than "bruises"...blood vessels showing through the thin skin under your eyes. I have had this problem since I was a teenager. Preparation H helps but DO NOT use this more than a couple of days in a row or on a routine basis because this thins the skin around your eyes and you will be worse off than before. Cold spoons help but not very well. The best things you can do is: 1. Stay well-hydrated (if you are healthy, you retain water because your body thinks it needs to). Get plenty of fluids on a regular basis; this will help more than anything. 2. Sleep with your head elevated. 3. Try to determine if you have an allergy to something in particular or even regular seasonal allergies, which make the problem worse. 4. Don't smoke or drink, both of which can make it much worse. Unfortunately, as far as I know, there isn't a cure (if someone invents one, they'll make a fortune) but by following the above steps, you can make an improvement.
