I think DP is correct. Goldens and the wrong type of food can cause problems. It could also be the heat and the fact that he may be drinking a lot more water. Look for a better food for your Golden in your area. I don't know whats available to you but I feed my Goldens Canidae all life stages. They are just beautiful and love the food.
A good food will have no corn or wheat or soy or by products of any kind in it. The first few ingredient should always be meat of some kind. Not fillers.

Maybe the food is too rich - he may need to go to adult food if he's still eating puppy food (that helped my dog). And like other people said he may have eaten something bad when you were not looking. The boiled chicken is okay in small amounts & as long as there is no skin (too fatty = diarrhea). He could also be overfed. Sometimes dry foods are high in calories and you have to feed them less of it. Your vet might suggest that you feed him unsalted white rice with a little bit of boiled beef or chicken till his stools form again. Good luck.

1. Make sure he doesn't have some intestinal parasites. Giardia and whipworms are too big causes of loose, runny stools. Check and/or treat him for those.
2. Food insensitivity. I agree with others who advise switching to a different brand, not impressed with your present one. Look for something with a meat protein like chicken or lamb or fish. Those should be the first ingredients. Dogs sometimes are allergic to wheat, oorn or soy, and a lot of foods have those as the main ingredients.
If you give him treats, be careful of the ingredients in them also. I have a dog that spent a day throwing up because he ia allergic to the wheat gluten that the thing was made of.
You may have to do some trial and error to find one that works - you may want to contact some breeders and find out what they feed. Every breed can be a bit different when it comes to food sensitivities. Good luck with your pup.

It sounds to me as if something may be too rich for your dog's system and that's the way he's dealing with it. Our poodle can't eat certain foods for the same reason.
I'm afraid I must agree with some of the others--it may be the Eukanuba....he must not like it very well or you wouldn't have to give him the chicken.
My nephew's dog is not a picky eater and she won't touch Eukanuba--neither will our cat (another not-fussy eater)
My nephew's dog loves Beneful--always cleans our her bowl when she's fed that.
If this keeps up, though, either call your vet or take Rico in...they can advise you--maybe give him some meds to help.
Good luck.

All dogs love fresh chicken, but it also will cause diarreha if they get too much. While we all prefer a certain food brand, if the food brand you are using has been the food all along, I would not suspect the problem is necessarily with the food--rather the amount of chicken.
Meanwhile, your vet should check for parasites. Your dog may need to be dewormed!

First off..Consumer Reports indicated that all foods that are are advertised are the worst and contain mostly fillers. That said it could be any number of things, his treats, he may have eaten something he shouldn't, or maybe be a medical or gastrointestonal blockage or infection. Watch him for a few days and feed cooked rice, if the problem presists take him to a vet.

chicken is actually kind hard on the digestive tract and eukanuba is a crappy dog food with fillers and little meat that will cause this issue. change to a high quality premium holistic dog food. Eagle Pack Holistic Select, Wellness, Innova.... eagle pack is what i use on all my animals and we have had no problems raising them on it, or swithcing our animals to it. www.eaglepack.com and im sure they sell it in your area or can have ti shipped to you. but just to be safe...take a stool sample to your vet and get everything checked out, it could be worms, a mild virus....just to be safe.
natures recipe venison formula is a good food
nutro uses soy lecithin which causes major allergies in some dogs and can harden their arteries over time.... avoid nutro...they still get their food from menu foods...the company that recalled over 95 of its products and are stil getting it from the same place...overseas!
purina is lower quality food than eukk....corn, byproducts are the first ingredients...YUCK!

Might be the crappy Eukanuba food.. Might be a parasite.. Who knows.. You should see your vet, he would be able to do some tests and tell you what's going on..
Dump the crappy Eukanuba and get a better quality dogfood.. Then he won't need to be a sucky and get the chicken every day, he won't need it cause he'll be getting proper nutrition.
Might be an allergy to the food.. The vet can help tho.

Be careful and monitor his condition. This seems something out of the ordinary so watch that it doesn't become worse. Did you cook the chicken thoroughly? If the diarrhea continues, don't hesitate and take him to your vet. In the mean time, make sure he continues to drink plenty of water as dehydration is an issue.
