I just got windows vista the other day. I was told after I got it installed to create another account and to not use the Admin account. Is there a real diff with it because windows to me seems to be acting the same no matter how I"m logged in. I'll tell you having to type in a password everytime you want to install some software is kinda a pain in the but. Kept my xp cd just incase. Can anyone say Vista for sale lol

I hate Vista. I hate it with a passion. Its useless, and weak. And full of crappy annoying things. And its sooooooooooooooooooooooo slow! They say to use something other than the Admin account, so if you lose a password, or corrupt the profile, you can default back to the *clean* Admin account to get rid of the bad profile. Its like a safety plan.

I have the same prob...it's a huge pain to have to type in the Admin password to accept a download. We stopped using the admin acct, we now each have our own & just made a simple admin password we can each remember. I liked xp much better.

Go ahead and sign on as Admin. Then, right click "Computer" and choose properties. Click on "Security Center" and turn off "User Account Controls". That should get rid of the security boxes that are making you use a pasword all the time.
