I am giving my niece and her soon to be husband money for their wedding gift. How much would be appropriate? I thought 50 bucks would be ok, but thought about 100 as well. The wedding is saturday, and I don't want her to be disappointed.

The main idea of a gift is the thought, not the value. I, myself, would just be happy to know that your cared enough to be there to share our day...regardless of any gift. If she or her soon-to-be actually have the gull to express any form of disappointment, then #1-you probably wouldn't have been able to make them happy w/out breaking the bank and #2-they don't deserve it.
I'm sure that anything you give would be appreciated...whether it be $5 or $500.

Not to be rude, but I got $100 from various people when I graduated high school last year. However, those gifts were a bit ridiculous, I'll admit...but they do happen.

And so, $50 seems to be too little to me, since a wedding is much more festive and important to most people than graduating high school.

Since she is your niece, she is obviously close family and so I believe $100 would be more appropriate.

By all means, though, give what you can. I'm sure she'll appreciate your gift no matter the amount!

If 100 is not a financial burden , then I would go with that , however 50 is a fair and respectable gift.

Don't worry about dissappointing her. A bride is in no position to whine. Gifts are NOT why you were invited to the wedding in the first place.

Give what you can - but DON'T break your budget.

If you can give $100, go for that amount. That's a pretty normal amount for family to give.

If you can afford $100, then $100 it should be.

Cut it down the middle and give her $75.00. Any financial help is nice when you are a newly wed.
