Crisp is a thin slice of a potato, deep fried or baked until crisp. Potato chips serve as an appetizer, side dish, or snack. Commercial varieties are packaged for sale, usually in bags.

Healthier yes, but they're still quite fattening

Ignore the American above in the first position... ;)

Yes and No.

Nuts are healtier than Potato Chips...
Nuts are also containers of mucho fat.

Snacking on a couple kilos of nuts each week is *almost* as bad as doing the same with the crisps. I say almost, because the nuts actually have health benefits that the fried stuff doesn't. (Since they have essentially none.)

Yes....

nuts are generally considered healthier, however, they are still bad for you in excessive amounts. They're full of vegetable fat, and I believe something like 100g of some nuts has approximatly 600 calories.

A handful or so at a time shouldn't be a problem though, and certainly healthier than crisps.

Nuts are much better for you, but avoid the salted variety and they are high calorie! They contain vitamins and roughage and there is some evidence that they are cardio-protective. I am afraid the old crisps have little going for them.

Crisps is to the British and Irish, what you guys in the US call Chips.

Chips is to the British and Irish, what you guys in the US call Fries.

Confusing isnt it. :-P

By the way on Western Mainland Europe, they call UK Chips / US Fries = Pomme Frittes!!!

Stick with the nuts they are far more healthy eaten of course in moderation.

I'm not sure what "crisps" are, but if they are a cracker of some sort, then yes, nuts are absolutely healthier. I try to have nuts in one form or another every day. They are a good source of protein.

Not if they're roasted and salted.

Plain nuts (such as those you get in bags of mixed nuts and raisins) are contain many important nutrients and are better than crisps, but they are high in fat so you shouldn't eat too many.

Hands donw the nuts are better if it's nutrition you are seeking. Chips/ crispa have no nutrional value. Nuts have essential fatty acids and protein... but watch your portions... too much of a good thing can pack on the pounds.

Nuts are high in fat, but also high in protein. Crisps (chips for the American!) have absolutely no nutritional value at all. Plain nuts (not roasted, salted, flavoured) are best for you.

Depends, if you're going to eat dry roasted or salted then they are about the same. Stick to plain nuts and they're healthier
