It involved genital mutilation of babies, or used a religious symbol that was the weapon used to murder its greatest teacher?
Think about this carefully it is not a joke or snide jab at religion, just answer truthfully if you can.

You are talking about circumcision.
And you are simply wrong.
Ask any male who has been circumcised and you will find that it can even be considered an improvement.
We may never know why God created us with a foreskin and then asked that is be removed. But from purely a health viewpoint, the Jews travelling in the wilderness for forty years found it a great benefit.
Anmd not every Christian group make use of the cross as an icon. J.W's certainly do not.

Circumcision is not considered mutilation by everyone. And the sign of the cross is misused by many. And you did say a new religion, assuming that one does not already exist that promotes the above.

You have to understand -- many of the rules of Mosaic law (circumcision, avoiding shellfish and pork, etc.) first came into being because they were legitimate good health and hygiene practices...

I'd recommend reading "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. There's a whole chapter about how religion might be an unintended side-effect of a useful, Darwinian adaptation of blind obedience to parents and authority figures -- if you listen to your parents when they tell you not to eat those poisonous berries or that manure is good for crops, you improve your chances of survival and passing on your genes.

I did not join a religion, I joined God, Jesus Christ our savior, people that does not have
the correct perspective of who God is do bad things like mutilate babies and other sorts of things. And also it was in the prophesy in the bible that Jesus had to die for our sins on the cross or we would not be here today. Start reading your bible you'll see. Read John 17 you'll see how Jesus prayed for us.

That is twisting Christianity. God had a reason to circumcise baby boys. It was His law. Having the symbol of the cross is only a reminder of what He did for us. It ups the love and appreciation. I don't see anything wrong with either.

That's easy to answer: I wouldn't join any religion no matter what they did or preached, because religion is dumb and pointless.
