The time zones in the United States goes like this:

ET is GMT -5hrs (ET plus 5hrs = GMT)
CT is GMT -6hrs (CT plus 6hrs = GMT)
MT is GMT -7hrs (MT plus 7hrs = GMT)
PT is GMT -8hrs (PT plus 8hrs = GMT)

with this information you should be able to calculate your local time in respect to GMT

PT is GMT-8, so something on at 12:00 PT would be 20:00 GMT. ET is GMT-5, so something on at 12:00 ET would be 17:00 GMT.

Regardless of whether or not your country notes daylight savings, be aware that the United States is, at least in 2007, celebrating it two weeks before the rest of the world in the spring and two weeks after in the fall. Take note of this when converting times around DST.

Do you mean Pacific Daylight Time, Universal Zone P, or some other time? Also, do you really mean GMT or the more current UTC? Finally, do you mean on April 11th or some other date? If I assume you mean PDT today for the Western US and Canada, this is 8 zones away from England, so 8 hours minus the hour for daylight savings (as you said GMT). Therefore, at 6:30 pm PDT, it is 1:30 am the next day GMT. The clocks in England will read 2:30am, though, since they also observe daylight savings time If you mean Zone P, at UTC - 3 (such as in Brazil), At 6:30 pm PT it is 9:30 PM UTC (same as the old GMT). When clocks in Brazil read 6:30 PM in April, though, clocks in England will read 10:30 PM, as DST is not observed in Brazilian winter.

ET=GMT-05:00, according to the "Time Zone" tab of the "Date and Time" setting tool in the Windows "Control Panel".

campbelp has the conversions correct, but GMT does not convert to daylight savings, so the conversions are different when daylight savings is in effect than when it is not.
