I am wondering the same question.
There is a deafening silence coming from the [peaceful!?!] muslim society to speak out against the violence in their religion. I am very very very worried and suspicious about this silence. More violence is festering unseen that can erupt any moment any where.

Why should they.
Seriously, there are some freaks somewhere in the world who blew up some people. Why should someone here who has 'absolutely' no connection to those events say anything to 'defend' themselves. The muslims here did not do anything wrong so why should they speak out.
If the same applies, why didn't the school kids speak out after the Columbine, why aren't the born again christians speaking out against the Iraq war.
This is a commonly asked question and is incredibly stupid as well. Why should anyone, even a Muslim, explain himself/herself for someone else's actions.

They have spoken out against them many times. But Muslims complaining about Muslims isn't news worthy just as in the same way All the different Christian factions complaining about each other isn't news worthy.
Every now and then you will see a rep from the United States Muslim community condemn whats going on in the middle east but that is about it. The media is the ones that decide what gets put on the news and that kind of news would get old quick.

Muslims in America speak out against terrorism every day. It's just some people choose to ignore it. I'm USA Muslim and I don't agree with the Iranian president or the attacks on innocent people.

I think American Muslims are between a rock and a hard place. And I don't think people from that part of the world are always comfortable 'speaking out' on issues. I believe their societies change at a much slower pace than the west.

Everyone has the right to defend their property and families and community/country from invasion. I'm not afraid to speak for justice. Just because I live in the US doesn't mean I have to blindly follow or believe what someone tells me. Hell, we got troops whose votes were NOT counted in the last election simply because it was feared they (the troops) would vote Bush out of office. I suppose that was okay. Right is right and wrong is wrong. No compromise. That's what I speak out about.

Muslims that are defending there country being invaded you mean?
If Iraqi people invaded the US would Americans sit back and do nothing? Would Americans not have the right to defend themselves? Would you just sit back and let Iraqi soldiers kill your family members, kick you out of your home, rape your daughters, imprison your sons for no reason?
Would you just sit at home and not defend your land or people?
I dont think so.
Since America invaded Iraq 4,000 American soldiers killed.
Since America invaded Iraq 60,000 Plus Iraqi men, women and CHILDREN have been murdered.
You do the math.
If you want me to support Bush in his terrorist invasion of innocent people sorry that's never going to happen, never!!

Why aren't the americans speaking out against the americans that are STILL in Iraq when there's no need killing innocent people? Are they too afraid or are they in agreement with what they are doing.

This is not a crusade against Muslims, It is a political war. You didn't hear of anyone who is a Christian speaking up when we went to war against each other, such as when we fought in the WW1 and 11. the Muslims have made choices of loyalty to their nations just as the Christian did in other wars.

It isn't much of a faith at all that causes a people to not speak out and show up because they are in hiding, afraid that they would, no doubt, be killed by their own. That being the case, where is this alah god they serve? Is he not mighty enough to save his faithful people? NO! He wasn't mighty enough to save his own self, as he rots this moment in his grave.
