All colors pop against black so really anything goes. Toile is a very elegant look so I would stay with either light colors to show off the toile or blend deep rich color against it for a cozier feel. Bring home the color strips and see what works for you.

wow... 1800's what a steal! What kind of decor or u heading for? French w/ the toile' or something else? That is what u need to consider. Black w/ white? I've seen black w/ tan so tan would b a good color if u want to keep it neutral or tone it down. If u want the room to pop... then use colors like dusty purple, deep reds, sunflower yellow, like it has been said almost anything goes w/ black & white. U can paint the walls shades of tans then use color for throws/pillows/chairs..etc & carry that color into u'r bath. so that they would compliment ea other. Rmbr.. if u don't like it.. paint over it. Get samples & tape it on u'r walls & watch it as the day goes by. Then u would know what it may look like in different lights of the day & evening. U could even do toile curtains w/ anthr color to pop.. like what u use for accessories. Have fun!

Does the room have any domicile windows? purple or dark hues would make the room look very closed in and smaller. i like the terracotta theory. a buddy of mine did her eating and kitchen in that shade. in case you think of that terracotta is to dark attempt portray only the backside of the wall that shade and the superb 0.5 in a lighter shade. Use chair rail or wall paper border interior the middle. eco-friendly is a large accessory shade. Oh, and in case you intend to make your ceiling look bigger, attempt portray a band approximately 3 or 4 inches, each and every of how around the superb of the wall into the white ceiling, with white. It supplies the phantasm have having a bigger ceiling. i wish I typed this so which you will comprehend. i'm no longer large on giving written classes. I you prefer be happy to digital mail me. reliable success!

I think yellow looks great with black and white, it's a romantic feeling. For more contrast, red always goes.
