OK, im suprised no one hs said this yet, but if you go in a pool with your lenses in, there is the possibiity that they will come out but ALSO they will absorb the water from the pool. If you want to wear your lenses get some very good tight fitting goggles.

Or instead get some prescription goggles made up these are really cheap and in some opticians can be made up very fast.

Unless you are wearing a special pair of contact lenses specifically made for swimming (and extremely expensive). Otherwise you risk chlorine burns on your corneas.

In any case, you should always remove your contacts before going into the water. While you are swimming, the water will "sharpen" your vision by about 20%. I personally require low-grade vision correcction (18/20 or so), and while swimming, I can see about 20/20.

It is NEVER good to swim with your contacts in, UNLESS you have a good pair of water tight goggles. Contacts can wash out in the water and then they are gone PLUS the chlorinated water and all the chemicals can irritate eyes. There are also lots of germs that you can give you a nasty eye infection.

Its better to not wear contacts at all while swimming, but if you must, then invest in a good pair of goggles. Or, simply wear your glasses...

You should not swim in contact lenses because of the myriad of possible germs found in water, most notably, acanthamoeba. If you were to find yourself in a body of water with your contacts on, remove them immediately and disinfect them for 4-6 hours, depending on your cleaning system.

You would need to wear some sort of goggles or mask because if you don't they are going to flush right out of those peepers. Or, you can have a custom made lense for a mask and hope your vision never changes because it is quite expensive.

You can go in, but remember that the contacts are basically going to go to what ever is more wet. So if you open your eyes under water or when water is running in your eyes, they're coming out. I go in my hut tub with my contacts in all the time and have never had a problem.

You are not supposed to go in the pool and open your eyes underwater with contacts in... for many reasons. Primarily because you might get an eye infection or lose the lens.
That said, I eye mine to the pool and just don't open my eyes underwater.

Wear goggles to stop them coming out.

Use Google to find them if you can. I suspect it wont help much.
