My vet suggest Benedryl. I mg. per lb of dog. You can also use any store equivilant such as Walidryl, (Walgreens) brand.

However before just dosing your dog I would definetly see the Vet.

Usually nothing. I take them to the vet and get it checked out. Giving them OTC drugs such as Benedryl is a bad idea. Basically it masks the symptoms rather treating the problem.

I have found that making diet changes can help. Get away from the corn products and try a food the dog has probably never eaten. Take your time switching and it may take weeks to see results.

A stage. :)

Ok, if they're allergies, you can give dogs benadryl...but I don't have any idea on the dosage. Ask your vet. :)

yes the benidryl was recommended by my vet when our puppy broke out in hives. They also gave us a prescription for prednyson (sp?) which is a steriod used for severe allergeries. I was on it as a kid when I had hives.

He had hives so bad you could see them thru his coat and his belly was terrible. Vet thinks it was a bug he ate.

Depends on the degree of allergies. If they are mild benedryl.
