Has she ever had babies? If so it just might be residual swelling in the mammary area where the milk is still reabsorbing. Even if she had a false pregnancy it could just be mammary tissue enlargement.

Breast cancer is usually hard (like a walnut) and is more common in older dogs. I would really doubt it is that.

Are you sure it's breast tissue and not lymph nodes? They would be firm like feeling an orange not soft like a grape or hard like a walnut. Lymphoma could be a possibility if it were lymph nodes. They are a little deeper not just under the skin unless the skin is thinner there next to the chest wall and ribs.

If it's red hot or painful it is an infection and needs some antibiotics quickly.

I would have a vet check it unless it seems to be shrinking within a day or two.

my mum has just found the same kinda thing in her yorkie only lady is 12. She is going in friday to have them removed this is the only way to find out if they are cancer or not.
Other than that is it milk ? could she be having a false pregnancey ? or even be pregnant ?
There is no way you are going to tell other than a vet trip. If you are worried about the cost for this try and find your nearest blue cross they are very good and the price is very reasonable.
Good Luck and I hope your little girl is ok

They could be some kind of cyst.

It would be best if you took her in for a thorough exam.

Why haven't you had her spayed?
