Could her and I walk down the aisle? Could my Dad give us both away? Any suggestions? The groom is not her father.

This is a great question one in which I certainly would love to answer. When I married my husband, 28 yrs now, my youngest was 4. She walked down the aisle with her 2 older sisters and I made all them bridesmaid, and she was called "little miss Jr bridesmaid" She was so proud that she could be a part of it. She had a hard time containing her excitement. I gave her the option to walk down with me, or be with her sisters. She was the first one to walk and I made it from youngest on up. It was so cute to see her walk down that aisle like she owned the church for a few minutes. Now, to me, that was a time never to be forgotten. She felt like she was really a part of it all, and she was of course. I think your idea is also wonderful..When children feel part of an important event, it is a wonderful memory for them and they will always be grateful that you made it so personal for her. Just like it is her day too. Congratulations. I think you must be a wonderful mom.

If you have a train on your gown she could be what is called a page. She can carry the back of your train as you walk down the isle. My theree year old son did this for for sister in law and made every one say awe thats cute... Just be sure some one in the front row is appointed to help her when it comes time to release the train and take a seat.

I don't see why she couldn't walk down the aisle with you. Maybe she could even carry the ring. It's your day (and your husband-to-be's, of course) so it should go the way you wish it to.

Have you considered a family medallion ceremony. They are really becoming popular for couples where one or both has children from a previous relationship. It is a simple ceremony done after you recite your vows. You present a family medallion to your husband and he places it around your daughter's neck. Each medallion comes with wording for the ceremony.

I like the idea of Dad giving away daughter and granddaughter. Make her a Jr. Bride. One thing I would suggest, if she wants to sit next to you at the bridal table to eat, let her. I know of one situation where the son wanted to sit next to his mother, and she wouldn't let him. I thought that was mean, considering the changes he was going thru by getting a stepdad, and having to share his mother with someone else when he was used to just him and mom.

Before I even read your full question, I was thinking exactly what you said!! Have her walk with you, and have your dad give you both away. That is a fantastic idea. Hope your day is beautiful!
