I choose to end my 32 year landline phone and I hoped it would say "this phone is no longer in service" but I finally went to the neighbors to see and it says "this number has been changed to a private number". That sounds like I got snooty and did that but I didn't. Do any of you phone people know if I can have it changed ? I can't call them :) and on T Mobile $100 for 1000 minutes prepaid, do all minutes count, incoming and out going because I was just going to have people call me back, but I bet all minutes count ????

Hi,
For some odd reason something similar happened to me when we changed our phone number due to moving to another area nearby that had a different exchange. What I wanted my recording to say was that my number had been disconnected even though it really had been changed to a private number. I had to call the local phone company (Bell South) to ask them to change the message. They CAN have the recording say anything you want it to say but sometimes what they input doesn't work correctly. Just call them again and ask them to be sure it says what you want it to say. If they say it will, then it should and you have a right to expect it to say the right thing.
