It really depends on what genre you like, because if you don't like a certain type of book you just won't enjoy reading it
Personally I like fantasy like Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
But then I find Austen really enjoyable as well
I think everyone should read the Great Gatsby, it's not a really dense book and its so enjoyable

I highly recommend all of the Harry Potter books. They're long, but an easy read. Once you start reading, you just can't stop.

i love the book twilight by stephanie meyer. it is a great book, but it is VERY long. 498 pages. but its a GREAT book
