It depends how mature the catfish are - if they're too old, they mey feel inclined to bully/eat fish smaller than them, but they all sound resilliant (specially the danios!) so it may be worth having a try! Part of the fun of fish keeping is trying new things :)
I'd reccoment using live plants instead tho - the problem with plastic ones is that eventually, they get dirty and algae riden, plus real ones give off at least some O2.

is there any particular reason you would do 3 of each? one of the catish is plenty, and since danios are schooling fish i would do 4, female betta's can do nicely alone and do not require extra oxygen. i would keep 6 fish and clean with a gravel vaccuum about twice a month, only feeding once a day no more than they can eat in about 3 minutes should keep it cleaner too.

Sort of...
Danios like to be in groups of 5 or more.
And Otos are less shy in groups.

the answer depends on the danios
if they are pearl or zebra they will be fine if it is a larger type ie. giant danio you would be over stocked.
bigger tanks require less maintainance if you don't over stock

Yes just be sure that that your tank is not overcrowded, because that will cause your fish to be aggressive.
