Problem is that a lot of parents don't know proper english so they teach their children improper english...and the cycle never ends. I would hope that most people who speak improperly don't do it on purpose...

Should not that be 'correct' English?
My pet hate is all the slang and incorrect spellings that youngsters do (OMG. I'm becoming my mother - she used to say that when I was a teenager).
It isn't just speaking correctly though is it? Don't you think that we should all read more to acquire a larger vocabulary?
I'm married to a lorry driver, he has a choice vocabulary - but I'd cringe if he used it in public!

maybe because some people just cant..you know, like cultural barriers...besides, some think its hip to deviate from proper english usage.

I guess we get so use to using slang that it becomes our "proper" English.

well yes .. english and all lang hav evolved over the 100s ov yrs
its just that the lang is still evolvin !! to shorter and easyer to understand ..
the time is different to wen most ppl spoke proper english ..
