I have been on microgynon30 for the past 7 years and thinking of taking a break from it. Pushing 30 slowly and starting to be scared what I am doing to my body and how safe the combined pill is. I started to have migrains for the first time but my doctor seems to think is OK. When reading all the posible side efects it makes me wonder if the doctors push on the pill to girls and women to save themselfs and the NHS money and time from making more terminations, or they genuinly are for the benefit of the woman only. Maybe I am being paranoied but a young woman I know died because of blood cloth, she wasn't fat, very active, and she was on the same pill as me.
Yes I know millions of women use them but I want to know if a health profesionals use them too as their choice of contraception?

If I needed contraception now I would use long acting contraception eg mirena or maybe implanon. Microgynon is almost standard issue it is cheap as chips but usually very well tolerated if it is not tolerated I would move on to cilest or yasmin. There is an increased risk of clots and all contraceptive users should be made aware of these risks but the risk is very small (increases with weight and cigarette smokers)

family planning docs will use coil on younger women now

Yeah-it somewhat is freaking retarded. Thats why we've docs and drugs. As for what's incorrect with human beings- i think of the election of GW Bush confirmed that stupidity is the norm in united states of america. I propose- in case you do not have faith in technological know-how, why could you have faith something a physician has to declare? talking of which, technological know-how isn't something that could desire to be "believed in" with the aid of fact we've info for it- however the Creationists look to have confident a lot of human beings who technological know-how is as made up as faith. Oh yeah, i became into pissed as quickly as I observed it became into WI too. Then I observed they moved there from CA, and became into much less stunned... :(

My doctor takes Kariva and she's had no issues with it.

She prescribed it for me over a year ago and I've had no icky side affects.

I am 33, so started taking them at 32ish.
