How about "The Stadium of Shite"

I'm not a Sunderland fan so I have no idea why the Stadium is named as such but I've always found it a nice name, better than "Stamford Bridge, Emirates Stadium" and whatever Newcastle call theres.

Oh St. James Park isn't it? Not something that sprung to my mind, proves therein the point. I could name Sunderlands Stadium before Newcastles.

Definitely! You can'y nick another team's stadium's name! Always thought that. It'd be like Man City calling the City of Manchester stadium The Bernabeu.
It needs to have some connection with Sunderland's past/tradition. Perhaps they could accommodate Roker in their somewhere?

Just stop beating about the bush and call it Roker Park ... sounds cool , sounds intimidating and it kinda suits Roy Keane .. not like Stadium of Light which sounds a bit woosey

It's more likely to change due to sponsorship. Laughable example is Kettering Town who's Rockingham Road ground has been re-named the A1 Arena. An arena about as old and cream crackered as the Colliseum (best burgers anywhere though).

With Quinn and Keane now in charge why not Quenno stadium?

Don't rename it at all, the stadium of light is fine, light weight football, light on crowds, light on atmosphere, enough!

It wasn't a very original name in the first place was it?
At the rate they go up and down the top two leagues how about calling it Yo Yo Park.
Apparently the Americans are training their astronauts there now because it's the only place on earth with no atmosphere!
