The Mcann family fund....What is your opinion?

Question

I come from a relativley small town within Scotland.
A local business man generously donated £1 million bucks to help the family in their time of need....
He doesn't appear on front covers of magazines, papers etc
How many celebrities who have multitiudes of money have came forward to show their generosity?
Not many that i'm aware of.
Has there ever been funds set up for other children who have disappeared over the years?
Do you think that all the money donated, is used appropriately?

I pray that she is found safe and well, reunited with her family... x

I think that money went to the reward for information.....
I dont think the McCanns have a choice in the sense if people are willing to help they cant stop themmm..

They might have objected but do not have the choice because reward money can help....

They know that if information or the child is not offered they wont see a penny....

I think the reponse by industry was unprecedented and may have come about because the family has connections.... It was blasted on the media because of the need to get information to the abductor.... They may have kept in silent otherwise... I know JK Rowling has a particular interest in Scotland and being a single parent and she has been generous before for many charities....I am a bit suspicious of the others like Branson who donated huge sums bigger than that donated by his companies to the 7/7 fund.... which was set up to support the many victims of the LOndon bombings.....This is one child and the reward was 2.5million
by industry. The government gave survivors 3.5 million...and several hundred thousand being donated by industry...

There own Maddie Fund has kept growing and nothing seems to be spent and they have also recieved front page publicity from the National Missing Persons Org that was set up and also had images of her beamed on Marble Arch for national missing persons day....

It does seem that it takes a middle class blond child for people to take an interest I just hope the charities do not get tempted by the media power of the McCanns and sign them up as ambassadors or as Patrons ...and that they give the money to the police and charity in Portugal to help other missing children.....

Yes I am judgemental and we will see how the McCanns evolve in days to come and trust their judgement for which until now have little oppportunity to demonstrate their gratitude ......

Millions of children have gone missing over the years, which means millions of families have gone through, and are still going through the same emotional struggle that the McCanns are. Most of these families will be searching for their children, leaving no stone unturned, turning to religion in exactly the same way that the McCanns are....do they see a penny of support? Probably not in comparison. I seriously hope that these donations are given to the groups that are trying to find all missing children around the world, or helping the crackdown on paedophile rings etc. I do hope that Maddy is found well, and I am not saying that the McCann case is being blown out of proportion, but why them, why should they become celebrities because of poor Maddy. If a newspaper gave a full page spread of every family that had lost a child then can you imagine how big that paper would be.

Where does the money go and who says what is going to be spent on, and when she is found, where does all the money go then, its sad for all the ones that have gone missing and got no help, eg Ben Needham, hes been gone for about 17 years i hear. McCanns are educated people with good jobs,they should use their own money to travel around, it is their fault they left them, if they had been unemployed, it would be splashed all over the papers they had left thier kids, and no fund would of been set up. I hope they find her i really do.

i agree that because the McCann's are middle class and educated that there is more sympathy for them than if they were parents from a lower social demographic. what parents in their right minds leave 3 kids under the age of 4 alone so they can go for dinner??
the money should be put into a central fund to help ALL missing children....

How many other loved ones have simply disappeared in the time the McCann case has been going on. There is nothing in the papers about them, lets give them some publicity as well.

The parents are meeting with the Pope today! I mean, what exactly is he going to do? It's all getting out of hand now. I think that the amount of money being donated is ridiculous. What is it being used for? To help the parents travel around! Enough of this already! It's yesterday's news!

i think of it relatively is sick, I propose a number of this is barely a photshoped photograph which you would be able to easily tell is phtohshoped, and that doesn't get on my nerves as lots, yet while human beings make video clips and stuff or write the fan fiction, it relatively is creepy... I hate it. i replaced into attempting to locate TH fan fiction and there replaced into this one with Christmass interior the identify, innocuous sufficient terrific, they continuously spend it with their fmilies, yet no, terrific off the bat it replaced into twincest, and that i replaced into like, oh $hit, that's repulsive... could no longer examine it, it replaced into terrible...

No. The money is not going to a worthy cause. It SHOULD be going towards searching for Maddy, but instead it's going towards the McCanns going around the world, meeting people (such as the Pope), and really, having a good time.

My opinion - May well be better kept to myself , The anger that I am feeling right now towards these people is not a true indication of the person I really am .

Hopefully once the little one is found the money earned is given to a charity to help others it will be VERY interesting to see what happens to the cash
