I have a P4 2.8GHz HT PC, 128MB AGP video card, 1GB RAM and Windows XP Pro. Recently I installed a game but when playing, the graphics jerked terribly. Tried lowering the in-game resolution but didn't help much. Would installing another 1GB help? Don't want to spend too much money. Thanks.

Seems like it is the fault of my graphics card. But don't think it is still wise to get an AGP card now, the tech is already now at PCI Express. Anyway, many thanks to all.

I think 1GB should be good enough for your computer. The reason why your graphics are so bad is that you have only a 128mb video card. Buy a new one (nVidia and ATI are good) and you should get at least 512mb of graphics memory.

No. Installing a new DIMM would be of so much help, but, in your case, as you wouldn't want to spend too much money, I think the best choice is to close all other active programs while you're running that game, especially those requiring internet access. It would also be of help if you play that game on a separate user account, with no much processes running, so that your CPU won't be that busy. I tried that with my game, and it worked. Believe me. Just keep in mind that when you create that account, be sure not to install many programs on it. Just play games there and nothing more.
Another tip is to change your processor, but it would be better and less costly when you buy another 1GB DIMM. But, just for reference purposes, here's the CNET.com prizefight for the processors. Changing the processor should be a long-term advancement to your PC's gaming performance.
Hope it helps.

1Gb on top of your current 1Gb RAM would hardly help and would hardly be noticeable even in benchmarks.
Gaming performance is a lot more dependent on GPU architecture (no. of pixel pipelines, vertex shaders, etc.), core clock speed and memory clock speed. Better spend the money on a video card upgrade instead. Do not be enticed by 512Mb videoram. It is not always fully utilized in games. 256Mb ddr3 videoram will ALWAYS beat 512Mb ddr2.

You are going to the right direction mate. Gaming machines nowadays come with at least 2GB of RAM. 1GB is just insufficient. You will definitely get a better gaming experience from doubling your RAM. However, you have to keep in mind that adding extra RAM.
