YES! I hate them they make me itch! I had to do a report on one for science and I had to get pictures and stuff I hated it! I could hardly look at the pictures! I had to run out of my room a few times scared that a snake may jump out of the screen or from under my bed or something(ridiculous I know). I hate snakes SO much I have a terrible fear of them. My neighbor said she had a snake in her backyard (we live in the hot humid south) and her yard is like right next to ours. I am terrified to go in my backyard now. I fear that the snake has come over to our yard. I can handle spiders a LITTLE bit better. I don't even like the word snake. Eeeek!!!

No. I've been enamoured of snakes all my life. I started catching snakes in my teens. If I had followed my inclinations I probably would have been a naturalist.

I have great respect for the injury I could get from snakes, and encourage my children and grandchildren to be sure of the identity of snakes before they try to capture them. We live in an area with a lot of copperheads and some moccasins as well as the usual kings and garter and DeKay's snakes.

The small constrictors make nice pets and quickly become accustomed to being handled. I once had a lovely little king with a yellow belly and a yellow circle around it's neck that used to wrap around my wrist like a little bracelet.

Cheerio!

No, why should they ? All phobias are in the mind, the more you understand, the less you fear. Having said that,we commonly share a fear of snakes with our Ape cousins who are far more likely to encounter reptiles. Fears are better addressed rather than shared.
