Is this an "ethnic" name? I'm not really into that. I watched a report on Dateline NBC where two identical resumes were sent to companies (the only difference were the names). I don't think it's any surprise that the person with the more common/generic name was called more often than the person with the ethnic name. People do not want to be bother by a complicated or contrived name. I especially hate when people try to be all creative by spelling heaven backwards to make up a child's name. This kid will have to live with it up until they are at least 18 and then they can legally change it.

When you have a baby, it is very important that you get the name right, because it is for life. The name Tamil or Tamilnadu is ok, but it isn't English, but you may not be English. The baby girl names that I like are: Brooke, Emmy, Gabrielle, Fliss, Louise, Caitlin, and there are a few more, but they are the main ones.
