Republican and Democratic are just names for parties. They both mean rule by the people through elections. What the parties stand for has flipped flopped over time. Neoconservativism is now the dominant political philosophy of the Republican party, and it preaches the spreading of democracy through military means and a "benign hegemony" by the US.

He doesn't practice what he preaches!

We are not a Democracy. There are no true Democracy's in the world, and I suspect it is for the same reason our founders did not want one. They DID NOT want the majority to rule the minority. We are a Representative Republic!

Bush has done nothing but attack the Constitution, violate it and all of our treaties, and he thinks he is a little dictator that does not have to go by the rules everyone else has to!

Bush is a Republican because he is pro wealthy. Republicans generally are only for those parts of the Constitution they like. The rest is just "a formality"!

Republicans like freedom, they are just misguided. They aren't bad people. They just like tradition and are not as open minded as other people.
