Well the universe is vast and anything is possible.
My best guess would be a life form based on silicon rather then carbon. It's just below carbon on the periodic table and shares many qualities. A life form could be based on silicon

I think it is possible that life could exist in form other than carbon based. There are still a lot of things that we dont know about this universe.
We only have one example of planet where life begin, so there are still a lot of possibility that life could exist in any form.
Recently I am interested in studying digital-life, a life-from exist in datasphere instead of biosphere, and there is indeed some similarity in the evolution of digital organism and bio organism. The time frame of life is different though.
Digital-life is in essence a self-evolving programs trying to survive in their computational environment, and some godly programmer can design such program without or with evolution as the algorithm.
This make me think that a creature could be the result of evolution involving natural selection, or the result of design by a Creator.
Anyway I think there are other process which could be the analog of photosynthesis, like below :
H2O + CO2 -> CH2O + O2
H2S + CO2 -> CH2O + S2
2HCl + C02 -> CH20 + Cl2
So if the plant in a planet start as H2S user, the evolved animal may breath sulfur, just like dragons in fairy tale.

Biological life is composed of materials which is found on earth.Each material was designed to perform specific functions.
Our Creator designed Man & all other biological life to repoduce and fill the Globe. And life on earth is set to that scenario. Man is still man and animal are still animal after they reproduce. An animal does not evolve into a human being and vice versa. Life only goes thru cycle of life and death;That evolutionary process is not reversible by natural means. Man has not suceeded to inject a new material in a dead human's brain and bring him back to life. Such would be a fiction tale of Frankestein. Its just is not real.
Other type of life which is not biological does exist but we have no understanding of what sustance it is.
Life itself is not Understood by medical science. The Brain constains all of what is necessary to make us function as living being.However what make a person feel his has life and what is it exactly, is not understood,except it exists.
The Period table of element lists a built up structure of atoms based on the previous incremental structure which form mass. The possibility that additional material structure can be created does exist. However it must have a purpose.
Science has never suceeded to take all the elements of the earth and put together a Human being out of these materials.
However they did succed to make an artificial brain out of silicon. Its called a computer.

In a universe that is endless and eternal, I do believe that anything that can be imagined, can be so. There may be elements and chemicals out there that we will never learn or discover. As for a life form that is made of some sort of metal, think that they would just have to be too stiff or rigid for any movement(like trees), but why not, there would have to be many other ingredients as well(although, at high temps., fluidity would be possible).

There are three main elements that could be the basis of life forms. These are Carbon, Silicon and Boron. These all produce polymers that could be combined to become a lifeform. Nitrogen can form polymers, but they are rare under natural conditions.

It would be foolish to say indefinatly not, because it's just not possible to rule it out. That's a theoritcal question that will be for a very long time. Unless we were to stumble onto a creature off of one of mars moons that happened to be basted on helium or something.

the suited respond will might desire to be B. faith will might desire to ask questions approximately nicely and risky, and proper and incorrect. those are questions that don't fall below the area of technological understand-how. technological information concerns itself with what concerns are and how concerns paintings. regrettably, faith all too quite often tries to intervene on the area of explaining what concerns are and how concerns paintings. whilst that occurs, technological understand-how and faith are diametrically opposed and can't be reconciled - and in the tip, faith will lose the battles it fights on those concerns - discrediting faith in the perspective. working example, the church particular did no longer do itself any favors by insisting that the earth was once on the middle of the universe and the coolest deal else orbited it. If faith caught to thinking approximately ethical concerns, then we does no longer have this conflict, and each physique might desire to be larger off.

Yes. Chemistry holds many possibilities. If plants exhaled chlorine, instead of oxygen, then animals on this planet would probably have evolved to breathe chlorine instead of oxygen.
