i havent had my period since february...is there a problem?

im definitely not pregnant (believe me, i know) and i used to have an eating disorder, which i originally thought could be the problem, but ive been back on the right eating track since december! why havent i had my period in so long?

the very same thing happened to me. i havent had mine without medicine to force me since april of 2006. i have a very common medical condition called pcos, or polycystic ovarian syndrome. it can happen out of nowhere and can cause infertility problems, which i am currently experiencing. but it is not life threatening. you need to call your gynecologist and tell him or her what is going on so he can look into it further. he will probably take blood samples and run tests and if that doesnt answer his questions he will more than likely do a transvaginal ultrasound and look at your ovaries - harmless. doesn't hurt at all. in the mean time you can read up on the links i have listed at the bottom.

you really do need to get into the doctor because the longer you do not have a period will increase your chances of cervical or uterine cancer. i went 6 months without one and my doctor gave me Provera to induce me to have one, just to keep everything flowing. don't worry too much, just call your doctor! good luck!

Your body could still be reacting to what happened with the eating disorder although you are back to normal eating patterns. I would recommend seeing a gynecologist to check to see if something else like a hormone imbalance could be causing this.

well if you had sex sometime this year then i thing you need to take a pregnant test
