If I search Bluetooth still appears in my programs I just can't access it and as a result am having difficulty in using the Bluetooth function on my laptop. I've used Help, but still struggling. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

1.Try rebooting your laptop
2. If that doesnt work then try right clicking My Computer --> Properties --> Hardware --> Device Manager, there should be a section in there which says Bluetooth Devices, and if theres a problem then it may have a small little yellow star in the bottom corner of the picture. if thats the case then right click and try scanning for hardware changes. if it finds a problem then it should just automatically sort it out
3. If none of that works then try uninstalling your thrid party software (the software that you use to access bluetooth) and reinstalling it.
4. If none of that works then go to control panel and look for something that has Bluetooth in the name, some say Bluetooth Configuration and some say Bluetooth devices and so on, then search through all the tabs to see if there is any visual problems

Hope that helps

try this out

1. Start > Control Panel
2. you find an icon named 'Bluetooth Devices', double click it to open
3. Click 'Options' tab
4. At the bottom you find a check box 'Show the bluetooth icon in the task bar'
5. Check it and click 'Ok'

done .. you should now able to find the bluetooth icon on your taskbar.

thanks

If you mean the icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen) this does get lost occasionally. Open Task manager, find "BTTRAY>EXE" in the process list and stop it. Then re-start it from the FILE- NEW TASK option in task manager. That should restore it

Check that you have not switched the Bluetooth off.
