Sorry, I am am bored to death of these questions but I am insensed over this. They have left the twins in Portugal as they are too young to fly and see the Pope, but they weren't too young to fly to Portugal and be left in a room on their own whilst their parents had a night out?

Why can't one parent stay with the twins and one see the Pope, unless this is just too good an opportunity for them to miss, ..... a bit like their meal out that unfortunate evening.

I feel the parent's have acted somewhat inappropriately in leaving their children whilst they jet off to meet the Pope. Unfortunately, it appears that this somewhat media savvy family have become deluded that in some way the Pope can help them. One should examine the record of the Catholic church regarding child protection issues and I'm afraid it doesn't fill me with much hope.... after all, it appears that God still isn't listening! But if they can leave their little girl while they go out on the lash then it begs the question that a private jet a trip to Rome does lure a certain amount of attraction especially when paid for by a British retail executive.

The story is becoming so boring now due to the deluded and misconceived idea of the parents. One can accept, that they are somewhat irrational at this moment in time and maybe void of professional advice but surely these children should have travelled with them too.

There are also funds being set up and public charitable collections for this family. Why? Let us remember that the father is a Consultant Cardiologist and the mother a practising GP..... it appears that they are stringing this out for all it is worth.

Thousands of people go missing every year and unfortunately we need to accept that maybe this little girl is another one. We all hope for her safe return and all hope that the family find peace.

They truly should have gone as a family! I am not understanding their decisions but then again it is their decision to make and not mine. If it were mine, I would never leave my children behind.
But, their reasoning for not taking their twins with them was that they did not want to interrupt their routine...
But I agree with everyone who stated that if Madeleine had been found - they should have been there to welcome her.
Asking for the Pope for his prayers for their daughter - is understandable... every parent with a missing child would love to do so - but not every parent is given the opportunity. What makes this situation different than others? I assume, although I do not know for sure - that the costs of this trip was payed for by the new foundation that they have set up for the finding of Madeleine McCann. My opinion is that the Pope would have prayed for Madeleine, like he does for the entire world and their going there didn't change that fact - it only spent money that people with big hearts donated.
I truly hope that their little girl is found safe and sound - but as I have mentioned before, I also pray that every other lost child is also found - and don't believe that any one case should be given more importance than another.

if the poor girl is found she is going to want to see her mummy and daddy first, but oh no they are off to Rome. Would'nt any parent just want to stay put until there child is found.. What a load of shite kids too young to fly, how the hell did they get to portugal? And the person that said they didn't want to upset the kids routine, surely it already has been. As they have been stuck in a crech everyday, instead of being with there parents at this difficult time. If they really wanted to go see the pope they should take the other 2 children with them, they are probably getting free flights and accomodation in rome anyway!

They have been dumping those 2 poor babies in the creche daily since Madeleine disappeared. They went to Fatima without them and now this?

Are they completly devoid of feeling?

I have one son, he is 19 months old and goes to nursery 3 afternoons a week when I go to work and my heart physically aches, I miss him that much! And thats only 4 hours an afternoon.

Middle class twits like this pair think having kids shouldn't impact their life. They will be dropped of at nursery or left with the nanny during the week for 10 hours a day so the parents and pursue their career. They have no idea of what looking after kids on a daily basis involves. They were even due to take the nanny on holiday. Look what happens when they were left to their own devices! Maybe people aren't able to have kids for a reason.

Just watched them getting interviewed on the private jet on the way to the Vatican and they concurr that it isn't suitable for the 2 year olds. Fair enough. But if something isn't suitable for my son we don't do it - its that simple really and called being a parent. You come last, not first.

We are taking our son to Cyprus next year and have the chance to take a mini cruise to Egypt. My parents will also be there and they have offered several times to take our son for a couple of nights so we can do the cruise. I thought and thought about it and although I would love to see the Pyramids and cruise the Nile I can't bear the thought of leaving my son in one country (even though I trust my parents implicabbly with him and he stays with them overnight quite often) and me going to another country. If anything happens to him I want it to be my fault, not my parents and what if something happened? I'd be ages away! We do things as a family or not at all. I will get to Egypt another time, maybe when he's older and can come with us or years down the line when he isn't coming on holiday with us anymore!

I'm fed up with these Q's to, but feel I must put in my tuppence worth...They should have gone as a family to see the Pope. Do you really think that Madeline would want to see her Parents first if she was found while they were off on another jolly? I think not, she is probably missing the staff from the creche more, or her nanny, you know 'familiar' faces.

When I heard the McCanns say they did not want to disturb their routine (with regards to the children) I thought is it about their routine (McCanns) and isnt this what they probably thought the night(s) they went for dinner with the children asleep.....I would be more forgiving if thise was a poor working class family who are not used to help refusing help in because they are not used to it....

The twins can go anywhere and sleep anywhere but I understand why the McCanns would want to keep them out of arms way with the Press Pack on the plane and from unnecessary exposure to the media.. they would be criticised for advertising their children.....

As long as when they left their twins with someone they trusted ... thats okay but I am with the McCanns on this on in the sense that they are being realistic....but sometimes they dont just give out the right answers ...maybe they are not thinking properly or they need better PR...

That is just a pathetic excuse! Then how did they get to Portugal in the first place? Maybe they don't want to take the twins because they want to be 'undisturbed'!
