I had the most rude person I have ever waited on tonite!
while asking him to choose a selection for his salad dressing he made a sleezy noise, grabbed his crotch and said...Italian baby!
I was horrified!
it just got worse from there, as he also pinched my behind.
at that point obviously I got the manager involved in taking over the table for me.
I just could not believe this guy.

when the guy got up to answer a phone call his other dining partners called me over and apologised for his rude behavior. they slipped me a 20 while he was away from the table because he was paying.
since my manager took over...... I don't know if that affected the outcome of the tip he left but he left 10 on 115.00
BTW..... I have a great Manager. I wouldn't work for anyone else, and he managed the situation proffesionally.

i usually smile through anything, but any inappropriate physical contact is absolutely over the line.

the other thing i will NOT tolerate is being snapped at. i abandoned a table once for doing that, and my manager (who was great) let them sit for a few minutes before taking over the table.

there's a difference between being short with servers and being wildly disrespectul, and i hold to that line very seriously.

I personally own a restaurant and when something like this happens we approach the customer regarding the situation and ask them kindly to stop and apologize to their server. If the situation continues we ask them to leave and offer a refund of anything purchased thus far and are banned from the restaurant for at least a month depending on what happened. If they do not kindly leave and let the situation go then we threaten to call the police and the waitress can press charges of sexual harassment and the person is escorted out by police. Usually whenever we mention that the police are going to get involved the situation quickly ends. Under all circumstances though a apology is required to the server. This method has worked very well and sometimes I don't have to get involved because the waitresses alone let the person know the policy which we hold and the customer understands apologizes and life goes on. I hope this helped!

Good for you. You handled obnoxious behavior admirably.
The saying that the 'customer is always right', never can be
applied with someone crass and disrespectful. And you
avoided a scene by calling the manager to handle it. I hope
it was a guy, by the way. It makes no difference if the man
was drunk or just the abusive type. Hopefully he wasn't married, I'd hate to be his wife. If he was that way with you,
a stranger, he probably is abusive to his wife, since it's
clear, he doesn't respect women.
Well I hope you had much better customers to make up
for his very rude behavior. I'm sure glad to hear you handled
the situation like that before it got out of hand. That could have
been more embarrasing for you. I'll bet you couldn't wait for
him to leave.
By the way, did he leave a tip?

Wow that guy was a real creep! I don't work as a server, and I'm male, but a story like that ... I would have refused to serve him as soon as he grabbed his crotch.

i'll s crew them off immediately.... like i only give them one chance and if they keep insisting in their manner i have to treat them the same way and think about a better job....

the only job u can find easily in every little town in america is to become a waiter if u know how to do it... jsut avoid locations that attract certaain criteria of idiots and morons (sadly this usually includes rednecks nad white ppl to my opinion)

just dont go to food business at all... it is mainly trouble not worth the money... fastfood or high class places... u almost get treated like **** at least twice a week!
