I have a bad habit - when I start to really concentrate on something, i get happy. and when I get happy, I will think - wt, let me get a drink, or let me do something else first.
This breaks the concentration. So my intense concentration can only last for a good one or two minutes.

As such, i can never get things properly done!

Can someone explain why this happens?
It is a reflex action.

it sounds like it's just a matter of self discipline that is needed and positive re-enforcement and thought patterning might help you to change the way you act. try to take you self analyzation and repeat to yourself that you will not allow yourself to veer away from the original course until you have finished, over and over again till it is deeply embedded in your brain and see if you don't get better results .
good luck
