USB Version 2.0 which has much higher transfer speeds thatn standard USB also known as USB 1.0

USB Cable 2.0 is a newer version. The transfer rate is faster as compared to the earlier version 1.1.
You can read this information in the package itself.
Go to your favorite stores.
Fry's Electronics sell this for less than the other stores.
Do not buy from Walmart Supercenter. The price there is almost double.
I do not really see much difference between the two versions although I use the newer version just to be abreast with the technology.

There are 3 versions of USB protocols produced: V1.0,V1.1 and V2.0 which differs on data transfer speed. The last one is used in high speed devices such as video cameras or external hard drives. if you don't connect a usb2 device with a normal cable it doesn't work properly.
